http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150025 Summary: Multiple Instances Running on Multiple Monitors
AssignedTo: hein kde org
ReportedBy: jasonpr gmail com
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Unspecified
New features please.
Create the ability to run multiple instances of yakuake. Each instance would have the capability to run an a different screen on a multiple monitor system. Each instance would have a separate configurable access key.
The ability to assign several access keys. Each key would make the singles instance appear on a screen predefined for that key. IE program <F1>, <F2>, <F3>, <F4> as access keys. Pressing <f1> would make yakuyake reappear on screen 1, <f2> would make yakuyake reappear on screen 2....

------- Additional Comments From hein kde org 2007-09-25 20:06 -------
You can start multiple instances of Yakuake with 'yakuake --nofork', and get them to use a different config file than the default one with 'yakuake --config <filespec>'. Both combined will let you run multiple instances with different config files, and thus different access shortcuts and Xinerama screens.

This post has NOT been accepted by the mailing list yet.
At least for me it not work:
$ yakuake --nofork
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
unnamed app(22390): KUniqueApplication: Can't setup D-Bus service. Probably already running.
Ubuntu 12.04 (yes, default Unity, I'm considering full switch to KDE, but not yet)
$ yakuake --version
KDE Development Platform: 4.8.5 (4.8.5)
$ uname -a
Linux spiszczek-w 3.2.0-36-generic #57-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 8 21:44:52 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
May be new, better version of KDE don't allow for this workaround ;-)
So problem returns :-(
I really like Yakuake as the best in this class, so it will be nice to have more than one instance :-)
