You're welcome O:)

I can't help you with this, but it seems that at this point you could just as well follow the instructions posted recently on how to migrate to postgresql. You'll lose any folder-specific properties you've defined (hey, it must be a feature), and your filters (if you didn't export them first) but apart from that there's nothing in the database that cannot be regenerated.

With a bit of luck your current error will NOT be regenerated.

In that case you should probably ask in a place where your question will be seen by mysql experts who are going to be less likely to think that you should just trash and rebuild you database from scratch. Maybe on a site like stackexchange.com .

There is probably a very good chance that this (apparently) single double key is just the tip of an iceberg of things that have gone wrong in your database. IOW, you may well find that there an almost endless list of errors to correct one by one.

copying part of folder

John White-2

I would like to archive just my 2018 emails, or save them to a separate 2018 folder. However they are in same folder as 2017 and 2019-to-date emails. I think I am missing something obvious as I have done this before.

Any suggestions are appreciated and thanks again for kmail, a great program.

Temporarily change the sorting to non-threaded, by date, and you should be
able to select them all as a single block and move/copy to your heart's
content.

Re: copying part of folder

John White-2

Thanks, but I am not sure how to do that. I see in Folders that aggregation is set to default and it appears that default is flat, not threaded. In short, I don't intentionally thread emails so I can't unthread them.

So what I don't know is how to highlight all messages received in 2018, so I can copy them.

Click on the first email you want to copy and scroll down to the last one you want, press Shift and Click on that one and that will highlight all emails between your first and last one.

Re: copying part of folder

John White-2

Thanks but that doesn't work anymore on my system. I must have turned something off. Even when I click on just one email the copy light doesn't come on.

Kmail 5.2.3

  • KDE Frameworks 5.28.0
  • Qt 5.7.1 (built against 5.7.1)
  • The xcb windowing system

All this on a Lenovo T430.
